Position Summary: Courteously and professionally greets and seats all residents and their guests in the dining room, coordinates the activities of the food servers on schedule, maintains a neat and orderly dining room, and takes responsibility for guest checks (issuing/collecting/reviewing). Keeps current on all local and state codes about food preparation, sanitation, and storage, and food allergens. Informs culinary management of food needs and residents' likes and dislikes. Takes ownership of Resident satisfaction for service. Follows HSL Cultural Beliefs. Core Competencies: An individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain or demonstrate the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities. Working knowledge of all serving and busing functions Communicates clearly and respectfully with Residents, Staff, and Management Capable of effectively running all aspects of a shift from start to finish in any of the three dining rooms Ability to lead a diverse staff Knowledge of general Host/Hostess procedures: scheduling, sections, service, set up, and side work Maintain a genuine interest in geriatric care and follow HSL Cultural Beliefs
