Host/Server Assistant
About The Position
Purpose of Position The host serves as the first and last impression of Sailfish Grille. They are responsible for greeting and seating guests, supporting service staff, managing the flow of the restaurant, and maintaining a clean, organized front-of-house environment. Daily Responsibilities Overview ➤ Guest Experience Provide a warm greeting to every guest entering Sailfish Grille Maintain a professional, friendly, and welcoming demeanor at all times Manage seating flow to ensure even table distribution Assist elderly or mobility-limited residents to tables Know table numbers, server sections, and daily event operations ➤ Communication Notify servers of new tables Communicate wait times and special requests Inform management immediately of concerns, complaints, or unusual situations ➤ Dining Room Support Run food and drinks when needed Pre-bus and reset tables to maintain smooth service Keep bathrooms, dining room, and entry clean throughout the shift ➤ Event Awareness Host must know all events that may affect flow, such as: Karaoke Night Trivia Night Specialty Dinners Private community events Specialty/Seasonal menus
