About The Position

The position involves greeting all customers entering the restaurant in a friendly manner and directing them to wait while finding a suitable table for their party. The individual will use the POS (Point of Sale) system to enter and complete to-go and room service orders, act as a cashier, and take and record reservations. The role includes essential duties such as greeting and seating customers, assigning tables to service staff, keeping the hostess area stocked and clean, assisting other restaurant employees, and performing various job-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.
• Restaurant experience, preferred.
• Must provide or obtain a Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintain during employment.
• Basic personal computer skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
• Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets and seats customers.
