About The Position
The Host at Hyatt Centric Downtown Sacramento plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests receive a warm welcome and are seated promptly in the dining outlets. This position requires a friendly demeanor and a commitment to providing excellent service throughout the guests' dining experience. The Host is responsible for greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, and assisting servers in delivering attentive service. Additionally, the Host will assist the cashier in processing payments and ensuring that all transactions are handled efficiently. This role is vital in maintaining the high standards of service that the hotel is known for, and it requires a proactive approach to guest interactions and problem-solving. In this position, the Host will be expected to maintain regular attendance and adhere to the scheduling needs of the hotel, which may vary. Personal appearance and grooming standards must be upheld, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag. The Host will also need to comply with various certification requirements, such as Food Handlers and Alcohol Awareness, to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ability to multitask and handle various responsibilities, from greeting guests to assisting with cash handling, is essential for success in this role. The Host will also be involved in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of menus, taking reservations, and performing opening and closing duties as outlined in the side work checklist. Knowledge of the menu and current specials is necessary to provide accurate information to guests. Overall, the Host is expected to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that every guest has a pleasant dining experience.
