The Host or Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, determining their party size, and seating them appropriately by finding clean, available tables, pulling out chairs, and presenting clean menus. They guide guests through dining rooms, provide assistance, and organize seating for groups with special needs. The role involves ensuring place settings are complete with napkins, clean silverware, and other standard items, and checking menus for currency, cleanliness, and presentation. The Host or Hostess must maintain cleanliness of work areas, monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service quality, safety, and guest well-being. They are expected to adhere to all company, safety, and security policies, report incidents, and complete required training. Maintaining a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protecting company assets are also key. The role requires welcoming guests according to company standards, using professional language, and answering telephones politely. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and addressing employee concerns are important. The Host or Hostess must ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. The position requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. Other duties as requested by Supervisors may also be assigned.
