About The Position

Our Host / Hostess team are responsible for interacting with guests welcoming them to Deck12 and VELA while maintaining wait lists and ensuring their experience isn’t tarnished by having to wait. Field questions from guests related to merchandise, to go orders, and hotel amenities. This is a Full Time hourly position paying $28.20 an hour with a start date of May 1, 2026.

Requirements

  • Flexible schedule allowing for the ability to work all shifts including: mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • High school or equivalent education preferred.
  • Minimum one-year of nightlife experience handling ID’s and guest interaction.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of hotel policy and fire-safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate hand held two-way radio and knowledge of ten codes.
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors although some outside work is expected.
  • Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. in an emergency.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other departments and locations of the hotel and outside the hotel on hotel grounds on a timely basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests at the door and help field initial questions about the flow and operation of the outlet
  • Operate our POS system; take orders, and greet guests looking to order food to go.
  • Work in conjunction with the security team to ensure smooth shifts, excellent guest services, and reliable support for fellow crew.
  • Restock merchandise & par inventory levels, maintain cleanliness and organization of retail displays
  • Seat guests and answer any questions related to the menu or outlet.
  • Answer phones and direct calls related to reservations for large parties to the proper crew member.
  • Provide an issue free environment through motivation, support, empowerment and development of crew members.
  • Ensure compliance of YOTEL brand standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Conflict resolution. Diffuse situations prior to issues escalating.
  • Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is mandatory.
