About The Position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.) Delivers internal and external guest service the Nemacolin way. Goes above and beyond – whether for an associate or guest. Responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to other employees and coworkers to provide superior guest service. Strong preparation skills – including but not limited to: floor plans, seating charts, rotation scheduling, etc. Greets guests at restaurant entrance with a friendly, upbeat, smiling, and positive attitude. Seats guests at tables of appropriate size and ensures all necessities are provided for the guest – including but not limited to: menus, silverware, etc. Excellent communication skills and relationship building with the serving staff. Ability to balance multiple competing priorities – i.e; ensuring servers receive fair amount of tables and seating as well as taking care of guest requests and needs. Informs servers and rest of staff of special occasions of guests – such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc – to ensure we are creating “Real Life Magic” for our guests in every special circumstance. Answers the phone in a kind and cordial manner while taking reservations. Knowledge of menus for all food and beverage outlets. Other job duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Friendly and out-going personality. Excellent communication skills. Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time. Must be able to speak the English language fluently. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Must be able to handle high-pressure situations. Customer service experience preferred; Restaurant experience a plus. Must be able to work a variety of shifts – including holidays, weekends, evenings, etc. Strong organizational skills. Ability to effectively perform multiple tasks. Ability to interface professionally with business contacts and customers. Strong understanding of hospitality industry helpful. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through a minimum of 2 years of experience in a guest service role.
