The Host/Hostess of the restaurant is the first person our guests encounter when entering the establishment and the last person to make an impact before leaving. The qualified candidate will have a professional appearance, an engaging personality, natural friendliness, and strong people skills. The host/hostess will open the door for each, monitor the dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables, estimate wait times for guests, monitor the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. The hostess has primary responsibility for answering the telephone, and arranging the restaurant tables and chairs as needed to accommodate groups of different sizes. In some restaurants, the host is responsible for validating age and ID. Other duties may be assigned as needed. “Due to Health Care Reform, we must notify you this is a variable hour position.
