About The Position

The St. James Hotel will be your best summer job! We’re making Summer job offers now! We’re looking for engaging team members and we are willing to train people with great attitude and professional style. Work 20-40 hours per week during the summer over a combination of afternoons/evenings and weekends. Extend your availability to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during May, September and October too and we’ll do our best to accommodate your desired work schedule as long as you have availability to work evenings and weekends. The Host/Hostess works as a Front of House Team Member, providing superior hospitality in our Restaurant(s) by: Greeting guests with a smile, answering questions about various menu items, and serving beverages to Guests dining in the restaurant. Host/Hostess provides prompt and personalized service experience that ensures 100% satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Three to six months related customer service experience; or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Able to demonstrate good verbal, written, and communication skills with attention to detail and interpersonal relationships with guests and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Greets all visitors to the restaurant. Execute service as indicated by Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Menu knowledge of all food, cocktail, liquor, wine and beer products to ensure the guest receives an enhanced experience. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Enhance the property’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Assist in maintaining general cleanliness of the entire Restaurant(s).
  • Perform preparatory duties as assigned (e.g., polishing, folding, assist in table setup, ensure accuracy and details of reservations).
  • Comply with all hotel, local, state and federal regulations to guarantee safe and proper food and alcohol service.
  • Accurately handle cash & reconcile financials at the end of the shift as required.
  • Coordinate activities with all departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
