About The Position

Position Summary The Day Host serves as the first point of contact for members and guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. This role is responsible for managing reservations, greeting and seating guests, coordinating server assignments, and supporting dining operations through clear communication and organization. The Day Host plays a key role in maintaining an efficient flow of service while delivering friendly, professional, and attentive hospitality.

Requirements

  • Previous host, front desk, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work daytime shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a busy dining environment.
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent (or in process) and some prior experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
  • Escort guests to tables and present menus when appropriate. Manage dining room seating to ensure balanced server sections and smooth service flow.
  • Communicate wait times accurately and courteously during high-volume periods.
  • Take and manage reservations accurately using the club’s reservation system.
  • Monitor table availability and adjust seating plans as needed.
  • Assign servers to tables strategically to promote fair workload distribution.
  • Communicate special requests, preferences, and notes to service staff.
  • Take carryout orders for walk-up guests and phone-in requests.
  • Accurately input orders and communicate timing expectations to guests.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure order accuracy and timeliness.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant, professional, and helpful manner.
  • Provide information related to dining hours, menus, reservations, and general club inquiries.
  • Route calls or requests to appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Complete host stand opening procedures, including system setup and station organization.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional host stand throughout service.
  • Complete closing duties such as system shutdowns, reservation verification, and workspace reset.
  • Work closely with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to support seamless service.
  • Assist in managing guest concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
  • Uphold the club’s standards for hospitality, appearance, and service excellence.
  • Foster a welcoming and respectful environment for members, guests, and coworkers.
