About The Position

Sonesta International Hotels, the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S., is seeking a professional and charismatic Host/Hostess for the iconic Redwood Room. This role serves as the first point of contact for this historic lounge, managing the flow of the room, greeting guests with genuine warmth, and setting the tone for an exceptional evening. The ideal candidate will balance high-volume efficiency with the sophisticated grace required for a high-level cocktail environment.

Requirements

Exceptional verbal communication skills and a polished, professional demeanor.
Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure during peak hours.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Previous hosting experience in a high-volume, upscale lounge or fine-dining environment is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with reservation platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide a warm, professional welcome to all guests, managing the door and seating with poise.
Oversee the seating chart and waitlist to maximize lounge capacity while ensuring a smooth guest experience.
Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management regarding open tables and guest needs.
Maintain a working knowledge of the room’s history and menu offerings to answer guest inquiries.
Ensure the entryway and host station remain pristine and organized throughout the shift.
