The Host/Hostess at Gordon Ramsay Steak is responsible for providing a warm and welcoming experience for guests, ensuring they are greeted cheerfully and seated promptly. This role serves as the first and last impression of the restaurant, playing a crucial part in the overall dining experience. The Host/Hostess manages reservations, communicates with the kitchen and management about guest needs, and maintains the cleanliness and organization of the host area.

  • Greet guests cheerfully in person and on the phone.
  • Seat arriving guests in a timely manner.
  • Manage the reservation function using the existing reservation system.
  • Communicate reservations and anticipated business levels to Chef and Management before shifts.
  • Coordinate with Lead Host for large party bookings.
  • Communicate special needs and requests of guests to the Chef before shifts.
  • Ensure menus are cleaned daily and report any maintenance issues to Management.
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of the host podium and entrance area.
  • Show guests to their tables and provide menus.
  • Ensure fair distribution of tables between server staff and door staff.
  • Oversee and maintain the retail area for Gordon Ramsay merchandise.
  • Assist other Hosts as needed.
  • Previous host/hostess experience preferred.
  • Experience with restaurant reservation systems and/or Open Table preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must obtain a Food Handlers certificate from County Health Department.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with guests and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing reservations.
  • Ability to remember and use guests' names when greeting regular customers.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and service expectations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience in a similar role in a high-end restaurant.
  • Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Opportunity for overtime as needed.
