About The Position

The American Airlines Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in downtown Dallas, Texas. The arena serves as the home of the Dallas Stars of the NHL and Dallas Mavericks of the NBA. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Host/Hostess to join our Premium Clubs team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for seating guests in the dining room for the Yuengling Flight Club, as well as occasionally working at our dessert cart as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum (1) year of Food and Beverage, Arena/Stadium, Hotel/ Hospitality, Club, or Full-Service Restaurant experience.
• Valid TABC or state-approved Alcohol/Liquor certification.
• Valid ServSafe or state-approved Food Handler's certification.
• Excellent customer service, organization, and time management.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to remain focused in a loud and busy environment.
• Ability to remain focused in a loud and busy environment, including standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greets and directs guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements.
• Helps create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promotes a safe, clean, and neat environment for guests and other associates.
• Exhibits exceptional communication skills; communicates with guests via phone and in person to make reservations.
• Gets along well with others, demonstrates flexibility and patience; possesses an interest in people; Maintains composure under pressure.
• Assists with the setup of the buffet line signage and serving utensils.
• Assists with occasional bussing and resetting of tables while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
• Sets up and breaks down the dessert cart.
• Serves various cakes, pastries, ice cream, coffees, etc to guests.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
