About The Position

Golden Hour — the MICHELIN Guide Recommended restaurant inside The Radical Hotel — is a celebration of vibrant flavors, thoughtful design, and genuine hospitality in Asheville’s River Arts District. We’re seeking a warm, polished, and hospitality-driven Host/Hostess to be the first and last impression of our guest experience. At Golden Hour, hospitality and friendliness aren’t just qualities — they’re the foundation of everything we do. From the moment a guest walks through our doors, your presence sets the tone.

Requirements

  • A naturally friendly, outgoing personality with a true passion for hospitality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to stay poised under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to multitask while maintaining warmth and professionalism.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability.
  • Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card or in the process of being certified.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
  • Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
  • Lifting thirty (30) pounds.
  • Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 100 lbs.
  • Constant standing & walking required.
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but a genuine spirit of service is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome every guest with authentic warmth, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm.
  • Manage reservations and waitlists with grace, organization, and clear communication.
  • Create a seamless flow of service by coordinating thoughtfully with servers, managers, and kitchen teams.
  • Escort guests to tables while setting expectations and creating anticipation for their experience.
  • Maintain an organized, polished host stand and entry area that reflects our elevated yet playful spirit.
  • Handle guest inquiries — in person and by phone — with patience, positivity, and care.
