About The Position

City Experiences is seeking a Training Specialist for our operation in Chicago, IL. This role is essential in facilitating, teaching, and maintaining excellence in the day-to-day activities of the frontline Crew. The successful candidate will embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System, demonstrating adaptability and dynamism in their approach. The Training Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the Crew is hospitable and cordial to both coworkers and guests while acting safely and responsibly. In this position, the Training Specialist will assist in managing the onboard Crew, which includes recruitment, training, coaching, and developing skills to ensure retention. They will provide support to restaurant managers to ensure Crew adherence to procedures outlined in the fleet training programs and Standard Operating Policies and Procedures. This includes thorough pre-cruise preparation, adherence to cruise scripts, oversight and development of front-line Crew, and proper execution of food and beverage service. The Training Specialist will participate in pre-cruise meetings and training topics, leading the front-line Crew in all necessary training for RESPECT, Safety, Sanitation, Service, and Food and Beverage Menu. The role requires maintaining a standard of one training session every week and ensuring that both Crew and guests adhere to all safety standards and procedures. The Training Specialist will also ensure that the Crew is trained to follow proper food and alcohol service guidelines, maintaining the safety of each guest, and adhering to health department sanitation codes. They will lead standard sanitation training for all crews and observe and recommend further training for frontline Crew as needed. Additionally, the Training Specialist will coordinate and deliver training to all new front-line crew, develop positive working relationships with city department heads and peers, and foster strong teamwork within the Crew. They will assist in recruiting front-line crew, conducting interviews, and administering the city Internship program, ensuring compliance with all state and local health and alcohol control requirements. The role also involves updating and maintaining training manuals and operating all restaurant systems effectively.
