Position Overview: The primary function of the Hospitality Specialist is to be primarily a front of house position, responsible for delivering exceptional service hospitality and ensuring a seamless dining experience for all guests and residents of the Local Table restaurant and resident dining rooms, including Assisted Living and Health Care. The Hospitality Specialist will be responsible for ongoing team development including, but not limited to, staff coaching and training; with continued presence in all dining areas, especially during peak meal times. This position will positively impact and model team spirit and contribute to a pleasant work environment, resulting in team building and engagement.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen [18] years of age
  • Must be able to work weekends and some holidays
  • Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer one or more years of culinary training or equivalent experience
  • Prefer one or more years of managing a food service operation
  • Prefer prior experience working in a healthcare setting or retirement community
  • Prefer SERV Safe certificate or be willing to achieve within 6-months of employment date

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff on the floor during meal service.
  • Interact with guests and residents to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with county, state and federal regulations by ensuring that all areas remain clean, sanitary.
  • Manage reservations and walk ins.
  • Establish training to ensure proper table side communication between staff and customers.
  • Facilitate ongoing mock customer experiences, through role play.
  • Manage beverage service at meals and events.
  • Coordinate with other members of food service leadership to ensure proper set up and execution of the service needed including: Meals, coffee service, events.
  • Coordinate with Chaplain, Social Services, Nursing and/or Life Enrichment to supply compassion carts in resident room for family during time of passing.
  • Conduct weekly dining room cleanliness audits.
  • Greet guests and Residents during mealtime.
  • Provide comfort and special needs or adaptive items to Residents while they dine.
  • Fill in as wait staff when staff are absent.
  • Assist in developing, implementing ongoing quality assurance programs for the department, to assess service.
  • May manage POS daily transactions and reports.
  • May hire, supervise and develop dining services team members and The Local Table waitstaff; including completion of onboarding and annual competencies; staff engagement and retention.
