About The Position

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic Hospitality Intern to join the Spring House at Kiawah River for the summer. This facility is a blossoming operation and requires individuals who are looking for a fun and exciting learning opportunity to develop skills and an understanding of multiple different fields—hospitality, fitness, events, and food and beverage operations. The Hospitality Intern at the Spring House plays a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for members and guests. This role supports the department by ensuring high quality guest service, maintaining facility cleanliness and organization, and assisting with daily operations. By delivering consistent hospitality and operational support, the Hospitality Intern helps strengthen homeowner satisfaction, reinforce service standards, and contribute to long term retention and community engagement. Throughout the summer, the intern will have the opportunity to rotate through multiple positions at the Spring House, including concierge, food runner, server, bartender, and supervisor.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing Hospitality/Tourism degree
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Personable and positive can-do attitude
  • Aptitude in resolving issues with a customer-focused orientation
  • Ability in multitasking and time-management

Responsibilities

  • Welcome all owners and guests with a great smile and energy
  • Focus on guest experience and anticipate guests needs
  • Follow customer service principles and health and safety awareness
  • Resolve guest complaints, follow steps of service and safe alcohol service, handling money (CC)
  • Follow check-in protocol, provide facility tours, and familiarize residents and guests with all aspects of the Spring House
  • Assist residents and guests with food and beverage orders, and help run food to patrons
  • Assist other food and beverage team members with executing service
  • Help to maintain clean environment for food and beverages and follow proper service guidelines as outlined by DHEC and managerial staff
  • Assist with dining events at Spring House and within Kiawah River Community (set-up, breakdown, and during the event)
  • Shadow Spring House Manager and Assistant Manager with the day-to-day facility operations, services, and staffing needs as they relate to dining, fitness, pool, and events
  • Assist Spring House Manager and Assistant Manager with the planning and execution of Spring House gatherings and functions for residents and guests as well as private event bookings
  • Learn processes for operational needs like inventory tracking and accounting procedures to maintain a well-organized and balanced budget—check requests, tracking revenue and expenses, etc.
  • Assist Spring House Manager and Assistant Manager with coordinating with vendors and service personnel on maintenance and upkeep of facility and equipment needs
