About The Position

To provide engaging, hands on and classroom based instruction to participants enrolled in the Hospitality Training Program, preparing individuals for entry level and advancement opportunities within the hospitality industry. This role delivers industry aligned curriculum focused on employer identified, in demand skills, supports participants in earning program credentials, and maintains accurate instructional and student records. The Hospitality Instructor facilitates training in ServSafe competencies, customer service excellence, hotel front desk operations, and hospitality career exploration, and collaborates closely with Program Coordinators, Success Coaches, Career Navigators, and external employer partners to ensure strong student outcomes and workforce readiness. This position reports to Career and Technical Education Team Lead who evaluates performance annually. Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality, education, workforce development, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant industry or instructional experience; prior teaching or training experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with participants, employers, and program staff through in person, phone, and electronic communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and positive relationships with diverse populations, including justice involved individuals and adults facing barriers to employment.
  • Passion for the hospitality industry, with working knowledge of current industry practices, expectations, and trends.
  • Commitment to serving underserved individuals and communities with empathy, patience, and respect.
  • Proficiency in using technology to support instruction, curriculum delivery, and student engagement in classroom and hands on training environments.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead inclusive, engaging classroom and hands on training sessions for diverse learners, adapting instruction to multiple learning styles and skill levels.
  • Develop, deliver, and continuously update industry aligned curriculum focused on essential and in demand hospitality skills identified by local employers and credentialing bodies.
  • Prepare participants to successfully complete course assessments and earn industry recognized credentials, including ServSafe and hospitality specific certifications.
  • Plan and manage instructional schedules, including daily training priorities, course sessions, assessments, and graduations.
  • Instruct participants on employer expectations, workplace behaviors, customer service standards, and professional readiness within hospitality work environments.
  • Collaborate with program staff to identify participant challenges or barriers to completion and implement strategies that support retention and student success.
  • Maintain accurate student records, reports, and required documentation related to attendance, participation, progress, and credential attainment in accordance with Goodwill and funder requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local hospitality employers to support guest instruction, curriculum relevance, work based learning opportunities, and job placement for program graduates.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
