About The Position

At Block by Block we employ Ambassadors to make public spaces better by making
them friendlier, safer and cleaner for the communities we serve.

If you're outgoing and friendly, and enjoy working outside and meeting new
people, we have just the job for you -- Hospitality Ambassador. This is also a
great opportunity for retirees, veterans, and graduating high school seniors who
are looking for their first job.

This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to
carry out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall experience and
appearance of the zone they are assigned to. Must maintain a positive,
professional demeanor at all times.

Requirements

• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk and  continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
• Utilize SMART technlogy via iphone to record data.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a city space environment, bar , concierge is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed which requires being proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
• May use a Segway  or walk to cover your zone
