About The Position

We are seeking a Physician – Hospitalist for a locum tenens position in Abingdon, VA. This role involves providing clinical coverage in an inpatient hospital setting. The coverage is needed as soon as possible and will continue on an ongoing basis. Physicians will work a schedule of 7 AM to 7 PM, with 4 days as rounders and 1 night rounder. Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants will have a different schedule with 1 day rounder. A minimum of 7 shifts per month is required for this position. The patient demographic consists of adults, and rounding is included in the responsibilities. The facility uses the Epic EMR system.

Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license required
• DEA license (pending acceptable)
• Active driver’s license or passport
• Permanent Resident card if applicable
• Board Certification required (ABPS not accepted)
• Residency diploma/certificate from an accredited university
• Certifications in ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and Preeclampsia

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical coverage in an inpatient hospital setting
• Conduct patient rounding
• Work a schedule of 7 AM to 7 PM with 4 day shifts and 1 night shift
• Meet minimum shift requirement of 7 per month
