JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Hospitalist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Brownsville, TX Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 07/15/2026 – Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: 6a–6p and 6p–6a COVERAGE DATES Starting July 15, 2026 – Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: Facility annual volume approximately 32,000 Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate Case Mix: General hospital medicine FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 243 Trauma Level: Level III EMR System: Cerner Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped inpatient hospital setting Specialty Backup Available: General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, OBGYN, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Psychiatry Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage 9a–6p and 4p–1a Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered; claims -based malpractice with full tail coverage ($1M/$3M limits) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Standard inpatient hospitalist procedures as clinically indicated JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active TX medical license in hand Board: Board Certified in ABEM or ABOEM, or Board Eligible with ATLS and PALS DEA: Active TX DEA required Certifications: ATLS and PALS (if Board Eligible) Experience: Prior hospitalist experience preferred Other Qualifications: Must have state license, board certification, DEA, and CSR (if required by state) in hand at time of presentation DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive inpatient hospitalist care Manage admissions, discharges, and daily rounding Collaborate with consulting subspecialties as needed Document encounters accurately in Cerner EMR Deliver high -quality, patient -centered care in a Level III trauma facility
