About The Position

Chenega is seeking to hire an experienced Hospitalist - Sepsis Subject Matter Expert to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), Prevention Response Branch, this person will work as a Hospitalist to inform CDC recommendations for prevention of sepsis and other healthcare-associated infections

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience
  • Completed Medical Degree.
  • Professional working knowledge within SharePoint.
  • Professional interpersonal and computer skills, to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook as well as SharePoint.
  • Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of CDC materials to help promote sepsis awareness and early recognition and intervention strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of a CDC strategy for sepsis prevention and early recognition and intervention that has the greatest potential to impact the most relevant provider groups.
  • Serve as subject matter point of contact and expert in in the development of educational efforts by CDC or CDC contractors in the promotion of recommended infection prevention practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Hospital infection Prevention Team and the Prevention and Response Branch in clinical hospital medicine, healthcare associated infection prevention, and sepsis-related activities.
  • Inform and participate in special studies related to sepsis informing prevention, recognition, and intervention strategies.
  • Participate in relevant working groups with CDC and partners discussing policy and procedure initiatives involving sepsis.
  • Work with partners to advance CDC sepsis prevention efforts in all settings.
  • Review, edit and draft up to two (2) articles and manuscripts for publication per year.
