Crouse's Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team is a multi-disciplinary group of Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) that provides care to patients through various services including anesthesia/pre-admission testing, cardiology, diabetes, gastroenterology, general surgery, hospitalist, nephrology, neurosciences, orthopedics and palliative medicine in collaboration with an attending physician. The APP team is hiring a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Requirements

• If being hired as a Nurse Practitioner:
• Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Adult or Family Practice in New York State.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in acute care nursing.
• If being hired as a Physician Assistant:
• Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at the time of hire of within two (2) weeks after hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required at the time of hire or within three (3) months after hire.
• AHA Stroke Certification part A required within one (1) month of employment; part B required within six (6) months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• The Hospitalist APP will practice in collaboration with the Hospitalist physician group as direct healthcare providers.
• Responsibilities include working with patients and families to coordinate the delivery of care throughout the hospitalization.
• This is done by assessing, diagnosing, treating, educating and consulting through regular and/or crisis intervention.
• The Hospitalist NP/PA is responsible for completing Admissions, Discharges, Inpatient Consultations and addressing floor calls for the Hospitalist service.
