About The Position

Williamson Health is seeking a Hospitalist - Nocturnist to provide high quality, cost-effective, and evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients as the attending or consulting physician. The hospitalist will be responsible for coordinating care for patients at discharge and facilitating hand-offs to outpatient physicians. Basic administrative duties may be required from time to time, and participation in hospital committees and leadership is encouraged. The position is scheduled for PRN shifts during the night from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Requirements

  • Current licensure by the State of Tennessee as a medical doctor or osteopathic physician.
  • Current DEA number.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial ability.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Current ACLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hospitalist role.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, cost-effective, and evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients.
  • Coordinate care for patients at discharge and facilitate hand-offs to outpatient physicians.
  • Participate in hospital committees and leadership.
  • Provide information, education, and support to patients and their families.
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with peers, consultants, and ER staff.
  • Facilitate appropriate and timely admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency in medical practices through continuing education.
  • Participate effectively in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Ensure accurate and clear chart documentation.
  • Present professionally, including appearance and demeanor.
