Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership to hospital based team. Professionally represent SMA to the physician community. Maintain strong rapport with hospitals, primary care physicians, specialists and ancillary providers in order to affect quality care. Maintain a personal daily caseload consistent with departmental expectations and deliver or coordinate all aspects of necessary care. Assess daily caseloads of SMA Hospitalists and help assign cases to achieve equal distribution of workload as indicated. Work with administrative assistant of monthly schedules. Mentor new hospitalists. Actively participate in departmental committees and meetings and lead hospitalist conferences with chief. Perform frequent chart reviews and assessment of hospitalists to review quality and clinical aptitude while identifying individual improvement plans. What makes an Optum Career different?
