The facility is seeking a dedicated and skilled Internal Medicine Hospitalist to join its growing inpatient medicine team in Dothan, Alabama . This full-time clinical role offers a stable hospital-employed position with a well-structured program, manageable patient volumes, strong APP support, and access to advanced medical resources. The Hospitalist will provide high-quality inpatient care, collaborate closely with specialists, and support safe, efficient transitions of care.   • Provide comprehensive Internal Medicine inpatient care
  • Manage acute medical conditions, chronic disease exacerbations, and complex cases
  • Round daily on assigned patients and ensure timely documentation in the EHR
  • Coordinate patient management plans with nursing staff, APPs, and ancillary teams
  • Facilitate safe and efficient admissions, discharges, and transitions of care
  • Perform or coordinate common hospitalist procedures (paracentesis, thoracentesis, line placements, etc.) as applicable
  • Manage emergencies until specialty teams assume care
  • Work closely with consulting specialists, case management, nursing, and support staff
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning
  • Ensure clear communication with patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
  • Support hospital throughput, efficiency, and clinical best practices
  • Uphold professional, ethical, and evidence-based standards of care
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong inpatient clinical decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based Internal Medicine care
  • Prior inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred but not required
