About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! The position is for a Hospitalist/Intensivist located in Dallas, providing 12-hour shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage. The provider cannot be on-call or provide any other services aside from those listed above simultaneously during their shift. This includes any existing agreement between SRC and any other entity that employs or contracts with the Provider separately to provide services to SRC.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Must have completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited pediatric residency program.
  • Must have relevant work experience or completed fellowship training in pediatric critical care.
  • Must possess or be eligible for TX medical license.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional medical care as a staff physician.
  • Provide high level pediatric acute and critical care clinical services to patients.
  • Perform and record history and physical examinations.
  • Record and interpret pertinent patient data.
  • Develop, document, and execute a treatment plan.
  • Write routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies, imaging, and consultations.
  • Perform patient/parent teaching.
  • Assist with patient follow-up.
  • Perform appropriate screenings.
  • Administer medications as required.
  • Order and/or perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as indicated by patient findings.
  • Manage vent and airway management.
  • Manage nutrition such as TPN.
  • Staff presurgical and multidisciplinary as needed.
  • Participate in research.
  • Supervise and teach medical students, residents, fellows, and clinical team on the inpatient unit.
  • Manage and participate in the call coverage schedule as assigned.
  • Develop, maintain and promote effective working relationships with other physicians and hospital staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings and hospital committees as requested.
  • Use hospital resources efficiently.
  • Abide by hospital regulations, bylaws, and policies.
  • Maintain good professional relationships with the broader medical community.
  • Provide professional pediatric hospitalist/intensivist services on-site for all patients admitted, under observation, or evaluated within the hospital.
  • Serve as the first responding physician for emergency services needed within the scope of practice.
  • Coordinate non-emergency care, as needed, and consult with the appropriate on-call service for further direction.
  • Maintain effective communication regarding current status and treatment plans for all inpatients with the incoming team through daily progress notes and status reports.
