Day and Evening Hospitalist Shifts available: * Daytime Hospitalist, 7 on & 7 off, 10-hour shifts * Evening Hospitalist, 7 on & 7 off, 10-hour shifts * Competitive compensation including excellent benefit package, retirement plans including a matching 403B, vacation, CME, and paid malpractice. Applicants must be a graduate of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Medicine-Pediatrics and be Board-Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Our goal is to develop a competent Hospitalist in clinical conditions, procedures, and health care systems as directed by the Society of Hospital Medicine.

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O degree, full residency training and Board eligibility/certification in internal medicine/family practice mandatory.
  • Two (2) years caring for medicine inpatients as resident and/or attending physician.
  • Hold a valid Connecticut medical license, Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification.
  • Excellent clinical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Provides care to medicine inpatients assigned to the Hospitalist Service, ensuring safe, high quality, patient-centered and efficient care.
  • Identifies information needs of team members, patients and families. Regularly provides related teaching and education to unit nurses and as applicable, to PAs/NPs, medical students, residents, and students from APP programs (PA or APRN).
  • Participates in team-based quality improvement and patient/customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Practices medicine in a manner which maximizes patient safety.
  • Follows all NEMG and respective hospital entity policies and procedures.
