About The Position

The Hospitalist Assistant is responsible for providing the department with administrative and physician support services, and performing a variety of clinical and patient-related duties necessary to ensure a smoothly functioning unit. The Hospitalist Assistant works in partnership and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary clinical care team members, toward providing quality patient care and enhanced communications.

Requirements

  • Completion of Medical Assistant Program - Accredited Required -or- Equivalent Experience or Completion of relevant program considered
  • 1 year Clerical - Healthcare Environment Required
  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology through experience or completion of a course.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
  • Proficient in EMR or other computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team-based environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary health care professionals.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment and perform effectively with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and an excellent phone etiquette.
  • Demonstrates organization skills with customer and patient focused while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
