The Opportunity – Full Time Nocturnist Cross-Cover Seeking Hospitalist physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Primary point of contact for nursing staff for adult inpatient needs during the overnight shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). Respond to urgent clinical situations, including bedside assessments as needed. Assist with overnight admissions (typically 0–1 per night). Provide cross-coverage for approximately 100–130 adult inpatients. In-house Physician back up. No ICU responsibilities. Candidates wanting to work in an academic setting with current residents desired. Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center – Midlothian, Virginia 185-bed hospital. Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center, and STEMI Receiving Center. Annual volume of 12,000 with an average of 20 admits per day and 10 admits per night. No procedures required unless desired. Onsite labs and imaging. Variety of sub-specialty backup available including anesthesia, cardiology/EP, infectious disease, Heme/Onc, and more. State of the art facility with recent bed expansion and renovation. Situated in Chesterfield County, Midlothian, Virginia, is an unincorporated village just 14 miles west of Richmond that has become an attractive bucolic retreat from the busy city. Today, it’s a community that combines historical ambiance with modern amenities and is one of the most rapidly growing areas of the country. Midlothian offers a four-season climate experience with temperatures ranging from 70 to 89 degrees in the summers and 29 to 47 degrees in the winters. Requirements
- Current national certification, DEA, and ACLS are preferred.
- Previous hospitalist/inpatient experience is preferred.
- Current VA state license is a plus.
- 12-hour shift, 7p-7a.
- 1-2 weekends per month.
