Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties, including answering phones, taking and delivering messages, and providing information to patients.
• Answers patients' signals, assesses their needs, and communicates requests to relevant individuals; provides for the needs of patients and family members when possible.
• Records vital signs accurately and reports any changes to the registered nurse (RN); informs the RN of any unusual occurrences or changes in the patient's condition.
• Maintains accurate records of vital signs, intake/output, weight, etc., and reports changes to the nurse.
• Performs bathing and hygiene measures, feeding, and other activities of daily living as necessary.
• Participates in patient care by lifting, turning, and repositioning patients, utilizing proper body mechanics and equipment.
• Escorts and transports patients and equipment to various hospital locations as required.
• Helps prepare patients for treatments, exams, and procedures, and assists with or chaperones procedures as appropriate.
