The Hospital Supervisor is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for the proper overall functioning of all departments at Mountains Community Hospital during off-weekday hours and on weekends. During regular weekday hours, the Hospital Supervisor supports department operations in cooperation with Department Managers, who retain ultimate responsibility. Authority is delegated from Department Managers and Senior Management, consistent with the State of California Nursing Practice Act. This role requires independent judgment to manage and supervise nursing, hospital, and District operations on assigned shifts. Key responsibilities include coordinating patient care logistics, such as admissions and outpatient procedures, responding to patient complaints, providing service recovery, and ensuring care aligns with a patient & family centered delivery model. The supervisor maintains staffing levels for efficient, economically responsible, and quality patient care, and is responsible for maximizing patient flow. The Hospital Supervisor also functions as an onsite administrative representative in the absence of hospital administrators, requiring in-depth knowledge of departmental and organizational policies, as well as state and federal regulations.
