Serves as an integral part of the nursing management team. Provides clinical and administrative direction on assigned shift. Ensures that the goals and objectives of the Hospital and the Nursing Department are carried out. Serves as an administrative and clinical resource to the nursing staff and as an administrative resource to other departments in the absence of their department head. Acts on behalf of the hospital administrators in their absence. Informs the Administrator on-call of critical developments and seeks direction when necessary. Functions within limits of the State Nurse Practice Act, Hospital and Nursing Department policies and procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Hospital and Nursing Department. Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.
