A day in the life You start from home in your company van, head to a local hospital, and meet with clinical staff to align on the day’s priorities. You prepare the chamber cleaning system, measure and mix chemicals, check pressures, and run the cleaning process on large sterilizers that keep patients safe. Throughout the day, you document your work on a smartphone and laptop, update customers on status and next steps, and coordinate with STERIS scheduling to plan your next route. If you spot issues beyond cleaning, you troubleshoot and connect with the right STERIS contact to ensure timely resolution. What you will handle Serve as a trusted, first point of contact for hospital clients, delivering proactive, professional communication and fast issue resolution. Advise customers on preventive cleaning needs, timing, and equipment details; build rapport with decision makers to promote sterilizer services. Perform chamber and sterilizer cleaning: change and adjust chemicals, monitor the process, maintain proper pressures, repair and maintain chamber cleaning equipment, and handle, transport, and dispose of chemicals according to safety protocols. Work closely with the Scheduling Team, your Supervisor, and customers to map efficient routes and meet coverage and service standards across your territory. Troubleshoot and escalate equipment or system concerns to the appropriate experts. Use a company-issued smartphone, laptop, and software for documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks. Safeguard and maintain the company vehicle, tools, equipment, and parts inventory; escalate maintenance needs to keep everything safe and effective.
