About The Position

Under management's direction, the Hospital Services Swing worker travels between customer healthcare facilities providing on-site proactive collection and exchange waste containers for various Stericycle programs, including Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management. This service is provided at regularly scheduled intervals for assigned facilities. The role involves filling in for other Team Members who are on vacation, sick, or leave, and assisting the Supervisor as needed, covering schedules and locations which may vary based on coverage required. The primary responsibility is to back up Hospital Services Technicians, traveling to customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Stericycle programs and services. The technician also installs products, resurveys accounts, and assists the Supervisor in asset/inventory management. Professional interaction with onsite customer staff is crucial to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded, and the role may involve traveling to customers to resolve service questions and issues. A rigid collection and service schedule must be maintained, and assistance with installs may be required. The position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing, with the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and push/pull carts weighing as much as 500 pounds.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of industry related experience in a customer service capacity preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings and situations.
  • Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Primary back up for Hospital Services Technicians.
  • Travels between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Stericycle programs and services, including but not limited to: Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substance and Document Shredding.
  • Installs product, resurvey accounts and assists Supervisor in asset/inventory management.
  • Interacts professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
  • May travel to customers in assigned area to proactively resolve customer service questions and issues.
  • Maintains a rigid collection and service schedule.
  • May assist with installs as required.
  • Communicates duty status on a defined scheduled.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
