About The Position

The Hospital Services Representative / Driver at the Rhode Island Blood Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of blood components to hospitals. Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver's license with no moving traffic violations within the last 3 years.
• Ability to communicate clearly using a telephone.

Responsibilities

• Receive, select, package, and arrange delivery for blood components.
• Manage inventory control by following Standard Operating Procedures.
• Update each component into the computer during delivery returns.
• Store blood and components in appropriate refrigeration or incubators.
• Arrange blood products according to expiration dates and remove expired products.
• Check and respond to storage device alarms.
• Record questionable blood products and report to a laboratory supervisor.
• Make outgoing calls to hospitals to maximize inventory utilization.
• Receive, record, and verify customer orders accurately.
• Fill and pack orders accurately following established procedures.
• Make timely deliveries to hospital blood banks, prioritizing urgent orders.
• Assist hospital technicians in verifying shipments and returns.
• Return signed copies of forms and correspondence to the Center.
• Document and report any unusual incidents to supervisory staff.
