About The Position

Our campus is undergoing a period of major expansion that will expand opportunities for research, education, and clinical care that will benefit patients all over the world. We are looking for amazing Pharmacy Technicians to join our team! Open positions may be for primarily first shift, second shift, or third shift for full-time, part-time, or PRN status. Open positions may be filled with Technician I, II or III jobs, depending on applicant qualifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) preferred.
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hazardous substances handling.
  • Knowledge of drug diversion surveillance processes.
  • Leadership experience in pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Pharmacists in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient.
  • Gather, label, and distribute medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Package, prepare, and safely compound medications including hazardous substances accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle, manage, and distribute controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies.
  • Assist with drug diversion surveillance.
  • Assist with training new pharmacy employees.
  • Maintain accurate medication inventories and billing of medications.
  • Effectively communicate utilizing established systems and processes.
  • Perform responsibilities and duties of the job in a manner that is attentive to age and ability considerations.
  • Perform duties within their Scope of Practice under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
  • Receive direction from their supervisor and other members of the Pharmacy Leadership team.
  • Work cooperatively with other Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, patients, Physicians, Nurses, and other members of the health care team.
  • Work with regular frequency in more advanced Pharmacy Technician roles, including Quality Improvement, Education/Training, Inventory Management, and Research.
  • Serve as lead technicians/super users in pharmacy operations, technology implementations, quality projects, etc.
