This hospital nursing department supports the mission, vision, and values of Lakewood Health System. We are a 25-bed critical access hospital serving medical, surgical, and swing bed patients and families. Our team consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Health Unit Coordinators, and Nursing Assistants. The hospital team provides a plan of care based on provider instructions and nursing care planning to meet patient goals, providing optimal care for health and safety and promoting quality of life. To provide individualized personal and nursing care to patients while preserving the patient’s rights and human dignity in a confidential manner, encouraging the patient to function at their highest level of ability.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with patients, families, customers, and colleagues.
  • Works collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in basic computer and documentation tasks.
  • Maintains professional, therapeutic boundaries with patients and their families.

Nice To Haves

  • Minnesota Nursing Assistant Certification preferred; willingness to obtain CNA certification with employer assistance.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal and nursing care for the patient in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  • Provide care that will help patients function at their highest level of ability.
  • Ensure patients are in a safe environment.
  • Carry out daily assignments as assigned.
  • Stay informed of and provide care in accordance with Lakewood’s policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with team to ensure all patient needs are met and daily tasks are completed.
  • Provide a caring environment to patients and families by listening to their needs to meet their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.
