About The Position

We invite Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to explore a rewarding inpatient opportunity with the Atrium Health Pineville Hospital Medicine team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to practice high-quality inpatient adult medicine in a collaborative, team-based environment alongside experienced physicians and APPs. Position Overview • Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM • Setting: 100% inpatient adult medicine • Coverage: Admissions and assistance with evening rapid responses as needed • Call: No formal call; shifts may include cross-coverage responsibilities • Team Structure: Collaborative, multidisciplinary hospital medicine team • Experience: Prior inpatient or acute care experience strongly preferred

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Eligible for licensure or currently licensed in North Carolina
  • Active or eligible DEA registration
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment
  • Master’s degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required
  • Board certification as ACNP or AGACNP required
  • Current RN licensure
  • Prescriptive authority eligibility in North Carolina
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Work requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, and pushing/pulling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and respond appropriately in high-stress clinical situations.
  • Visual, auditory, and fine motor skills necessary for patient care are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior inpatient or acute care experience strongly preferred
  • CAQ certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing medical histories, physical examinations, and daily patient assessments
  • Document assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record
  • Order, interpret, and manage laboratory and diagnostic imaging studies
  • Prescribe medications and administer treatments within scope of practice
  • Perform minor medical procedures as appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Act as a patient advocate to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to clinical practice initiatives as requested
