Requirements

  • Board-certified internal medicine or family medicine trained physician
  • Active medical license or eligible to become licensed in New York
  • 2 years+ Hospitalist Medical Director experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and foster a family-like environment within a blended, collaborative team.
  • Lead efforts in utilization management, compliance, and clinical documentation improvement at Lourdes Hospital.
  • Collaborate with hospital administration to identify and implement performance improvement initiatives such as length of stay, readmissions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in monthly hospitalist team meetings and provide ongoing education and support to our clinicians.
  • As a day clinician, your responsibility will encompass rounding patients, discharging when appropriate, occasional admission and participating in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • The hospital has a co-managed ICU with intensivist support, no procedures or vent management required.
  • Our hospitalist team is part of the rapid response and code team - we're all certified in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support. The intensivists will provide support.
  • We use EPIC EMR and have access to our own internal informatics platform.
