About The Position

JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE Performs daily inspections and maintenance of all plumbing, electrical and heating equipment and general maintenance of the building and grounds. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Completes work orders, preventative maintenance, and repairs as assigned in an efficient manner Completes log sheets, report sheets, test certificates and any other required paperwork as requested Uses work order electronic systems as requested Must be willing to travel within Washington county to work at organizations job sites. Utilizes hospital owned work vehicle in a responsible and safe manner Communicates non-routine items/issues to the Maintenance Manager Maintains tools by keeping clean and in working order Ensures safety protocols are followed while performing work Organizes daily work patterns around identified demands and priorities Maintains workshop and storage areas in a clean and tidy condition Maintains compliance with all OSHA and Hospital Safety Policies Provides high level of customer service to all departments and staff Seeks out needed information by staying informed and involved by attending meetings, reading memos, policies, meeting minutes, newsletters, email and other appropriate information in a timely manner. Reliable attendance and punctuality, including observing appropriate break times and extending a scheduled shift when necessary to meet patient demands Performs duties in a safe manner, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures Complies with the Code of Conduct and all appropriate policies and procedures Other duties, as assigned, that are relevant to the position and department DECH is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • Must obtain a State Boiler Operator license within 1 year
  • high school graduate, trade school graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of general maintenance techniques and maintenance type of equipment
  • Ability to assess and diagnose faults on complex buildings and equipment
  • Ability to routinely use maintenance products and solutions
  • Must be able to follow instructions both written and verbal
  • Adapts well to sudden changes
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to respond when on-call, arriving at the hospital no later than 30 minutes from the time the call was received

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry is preferred
