About The Position

Position Summary: Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor 2, the HLT III performs a full range of duties from specimen procurement/phlebotomy, specimen and/or blood component processing and handling. This includes performing a wide variety of repetitive technical procedures and standardized tests according to established protocols. Perform all duties in a manner consistent with current laboratory safety standards. Assist in preparing/ maintaining compliance as established by regulating agencies such as CAP, TJC, OSHA and other federal and state agencies. Additional duties include inventory and ordering of supplies, clerical, telephone, and communication with laboratory customers. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I)
Must possess the skill, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must be willing to provide weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis and variable shift assignment(s) as needed
At least 2 years of Phlebotomy experience

Nice To Haves

One year clinical laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Good computer skills including knowledge of various software applications
