About The Position

Incumbent will manage equipment inventory for a specific shift in the Main OR to ensure that the proper equipment is available, functioning properly, and ready for use when needed. Acts as the technical expert for all equipment needs, as well as performing equipment maintenance, cleaning, and basic repair. Will provide inservice to staff on the usage of new equipment as needed. Will trend and track usage in the department, and works closely with the OR team to determine equipment needs. May assist in the operation of equipment during surgery under the direction of the qualified medical practitioner.

Requirements

Successful completion of training in surgical technology, Clinical Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to perform basic analysis to determine the benefit and value of purchasing options
Demonstrated experience working in a healthcare setting
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology
