The position involves greeting patients, ordering lab work, and collecting and processing specimens for analysis by the clinical laboratory staff. Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
• Effective communication skills with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
• Intermediate language skills, basic math skills, and intermediate reasoning ability.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate politely and courteously.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical job duties associated with the outpatient drawing area.
• Performs collection job duties associated with the outpatient drawing area.
• Performs collection job duties associated with the Core Lab.
• Performs processing job duties associated with the Core Lab.
• Adheres to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures.
• Provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
