About The Position

Canyon Ridge Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and talented Patient Inventory Control Clerk to join our team. At Canyon Ridge Hospital we understand that not all wounds are visible. Canyon Ridge is a 157-bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages 13-17, adults and older adults. We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously. In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific needs. The Inventory Clerk under supervision, performs a variety of manual tasks related to the management of patient belonging inventories. Uses a personal computer and applicable software. Manages inpatient belongings. Maintains records, perform receiving, stocking, distributing, and packing in addition to inventory control. On occasion it will be necessary to work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call status. This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned. Requirements

  • High school level reading and writing skills
  • Availability to work every other weekend
  • Acceptable oral and written communication skills
  • Legible handwriting
  • Ability to maintain information as highly confidential
  • Telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face
  • Skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the organization
  • Skills in prioritizing and in managing time
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients
  • Empathy toward patients
  • Basic knowledge of 12-step treatment program
  • Insight regarding denial and resistance to treatment
  • Knowledge of the recovery process, Including relapse and relapse prevention.
  • Must be currently CPR certified through the American Heart Association only.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred
  • Basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful
