VCA PetCare East Veterinary Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA is looking for a hard-working individual to join our evening housekeeping team. Candidates should have strong attention to detail as well as a passion for cleaning and disinfection. Job Summary: Maintain the cleanliness of PetCare’s hospitals in accordance with PetCare’s cleaning and disinfecting standards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be friendly, outgoing, and have good communication skills. Ability to work in a team oriented environment. Well groomed, organized, and detail oriented. Ability to take direction. Safely handle cleaning and dissinfecting agents and chemicals. Safely handle heavy cleaning equiptment such as push brooms, mops and mop buckets. Must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize duties according to the immediate cleaning needs of the hospital. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 40 lbs. several times per day Repetitive use of upper body including extremities continuously during a minimum 8-hour day Must be able to walk, bend, stand, push and reach continuously during a minimum 8 hour day Understand written and spoken directions Fine motor skills adequate for using common hospital cleaning equipment such as: washing and drying machines, vaccuumes, etc. Dependable attendance is required Prescribed medication must not impair function or ability to fulfill the requirements of the job Education and Experience: GED or High school diploma. Must have experience working with the public. Experience in a veterinary hospital or other doctors’ office is a plus. Job Requirements The following is a list of essential job requirements. Job functions and job responsibility include: Maintenance/housekeeping of both inside and outside of hospital Have a complete understanding of the principles of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization Keep laundry flowing throughout the day, ensuring that the hospital has adequate towels, blankets etc. Respond promptly to requests for clean-up in different departments of the the hospital Good organizational and prioritizing skills Work at an above average pace to keep up with the needs of the hospital.
