About The Position

Overview We are seeking a Hospital Floor Technician , also referred to as a Floor Care Technician , Environmental Services Floor Technician or EVS Floor Technician . The Hospital Floor Technician will maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of hospital flooring throughout the facility. This position is responsible for cleaning, buffing, stripping, waxing, and maintaining hard floors and carpets in patient care areas, hallways, and common spaces. The Hospital Floor Technician helps support a safe and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff by ensuring floors are properly maintained and promptly addressed when spills or other floor-related issues arise. Requirements

  • One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures
  • Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to communicate and understand English

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of Floor Tech experience in a healthcare setting
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine floor care duties, including mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, sealing, and finishing floors
  • Maintain carpet and hard surface floors by vacuuming, spot cleaning, and polishing to keep areas clean and presentable
  • Operate and clean floor care equipment, ensuring all tools and supplies are left clean and ready for use
  • Use safety signs, follow safety procedures, and report hazards or concerns promptly
  • Work independently with normal supervision and complete related duties as assigned
