About The Position

Valley Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center is hiring a Hospital Director of Operations to join their team! Candidates with Veterinary Medicine experience are strongly encouraged to apply. We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Director of Hospital Operations to lead a large emergency veterinary hospital within Ethos Veterinary Health. This leader will oversee the hospital’s day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest quality of care for animals while driving financial and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in matrixed organizations, a passion for veterinary medicine, and a track record of building collaborative, high-performing teams. You will play a critical role in envisioning the future, driving innovation, and engaging cross-functional teams, including support center colleagues, to foster an environment where excellence and compassion thrive.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree ideal. Advanced degree is a plus; MHA/MBA.
  • Experience: 5–10+ years of senior leadership experience in veterinary hospital operations, healthcare, or retail, ideally in a multi-specialty or matrixed setting.
  • Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic and operational initiatives, and foster inclusive collaboration.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience successfully managing hospital financials, budgeting, and full P&L accountability.
