Your impact As a remote, hospital-based service engineer, you’ll be the on-site expert for the industry’s cornerstone OEM portfolio—washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, steam generators, and cart washers—spanning 160 distinct equipment types. You’ll ensure uptime, support installations, and turn complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic challenges into smooth, compliant operations. This role is safety sensitive. How you’ll contribute Execute troubleshooting, repairs, PMs, and upgrades for STERIS and competitive equipment in sterile processing and surgical settings. Independently prioritize PMs, service/warranty visits, and installation support, traveling across your assigned territory to meet service agreements. Partner with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to resolve escalations; use advanced technology platforms to fulfill regulatory documentation requirements. Advise Customers with clear findings, pricing, and repair choices; work with Sales to elevate experience and surface revenue opportunities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of work experience (including 2+ years in a mechanical/technical role).
  • Associate degree, technical certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military background may count toward technical experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to satisfy background and physical assessments for vendor credentialing; must remain compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.
  • Strong customer engagement skills; effective written and verbal communication.
  • Computer literacy across Windows, email, navigation, mobile apps, and multi-system data entry.
  • Schedule flexibility including early/late hours and potential overnights based on Customer and business needs.
