The Hospital Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of administrative and logistical processes within a hospital setting, supporting McKesson's commitment to healthcare excellence.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role within a healthcare setting, preferably a hospital.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and hospital information systems (e.g., EMR/EHR).
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures, and admissions, ensuring accurate record-keeping and communication with relevant departments.
  • Manage and maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, medical staff, and other hospital departments to ensure seamless patient care and experience.
  • Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and equipment, processing orders, receiving deliveries, and ensuring proper storage.
  • Prepare and process various administrative documents, including billing statements, insurance claims, and discharge paperwork.
  • Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and organizing meetings.
  • Resolve patient inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve workflow efficiency and patient satisfaction.
